Rani Lakshmibai Self-Defence Training 2026-27: The Karnataka Education Department has announced the implementation of the Rani Lakshmibai Atma Raksha Prashikshan (Self-Defence Training) programme for students of government upper primary and high schools during the 2026-27 academic year.

Objectives of Rani Lakshmibai Self-Defence Training

The main objective of the programme is to develop self-defence skills and improve the confidence of students.

The key objectives include:

1. Develop Self-Defence Skills

Students will be trained in basic self-defence techniques so that they can respond appropriately during unsafe or emergency situations.

Eligibility and Qualifications of Karate Trainers

  • Hold a certificate from a recognised karate organisation.
  • Have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in providing karate training.
  • Be capable of providing safe and age-appropriate self-defence training to school students.

Karate Trainer Honorarium

Selected trainers will be paid an honorarium for conducting the training.

The trainer will receive:

₹3,000 per month

For the three-month training period, the total honorarium will be:

₹9,000 per trainer

How Will the Training Be Implemented?

The programme will be implemented in selected government schools based on student enrolment.

Selection of Schools

The proposed selection criteria include:

  • Selected government high schools with more than 100 enrolled students.
  • Selected government upper primary schools with more than 50 enrolled students.

Schools will be selected district-wise as per the prescribed guidelines.

Training Schedule

Students will be divided into batches for effective implementation of the programme.

Training may be conducted:

  • After regular school hours, or
  • On Saturdays.

The training programme will be organised without affecting the regular academic activities of students.
